| In 2008 Kids from five states had to qualify to get here. Atlanta bound! Each player was given a uniform and a ticket to Saturday's game, and were announced before the game.

We are opening the competition to all eligible players in the Midlands, so
please come out and compete. This is our chance to show off our new park to
the rest of Columbia.
Pitch, Hit and Run is the Official Skills Competition of Major League Baseball.
This program is designed to provide children and young teens with an opportunity
to compete in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core
baseball skills.
Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and
have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team
Championships at Major League Ballparks. The National Finals will be at the 2008
Major League Baseball All-Star Game. Locally, the individual
pitching, hitting and running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion, in
each age group will advance to the Sectional Level of competition. All
participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and fill out a
registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition.
